WHAT IS THE METHOD?

The method is a fitness tool that helps dancers and non-dancers alike, and is also suitable for fitness schools and corporate ballet. Regardless of the physical activity you specialize in, having a body awareness that knows how to use the body is essential.

The 5th Position Method helps maintain range of motion, strength of muscles, and prevents sports injury.

STRENGTH

Ballet strengthens the body without adding bulk. It requires a great deal of leg and arm strength, which is why dancers typically have a more lean appearance.   

Though ballet dancers aren't what many people think of when they picture strong individuals, ballet actually requires a significant amount of arm and leg strength. 

ENDURANCE

Ballet and other forms of dance are considered aerobic exercises because the muscles used during dance sessions and training require a large amount of oxygen to perform; this results in an increased workload for the lungs and heart as they attempt to provide this oxygen. Aerobic exercise strengthens the heart and circulatory system, making it easier for the body to deliver oxygen and nutrients to its muscles during periods of intense muscular work. 

bALANCE

Ballet is full of jumps, poses and turns, which require good balance. Practicing ballet fitness is the perfect way to improve balance.Good balance is vital to being effective as an Athlete. Ballet also requires good balance, as many of the techniques used in ballet involve jumps, turns and poses that would put a person without training off balance. 

SPEED

My initial intention when I decided to develop this method was to recover from the multiple injuries that I caused myself, not knowing how to use my body, and not allowing it to heal in the correct way.
